Trail Maintenance Machinery – $3,565
Description
The Escondido Creek Conservancy proposes to purchase a Yardmax Power Trackbarrow w/Hydrolic Assist-Hopper, Model #YD8105 and Blade Attachment to facilitate moving large objects and trail repair materials on the existing trails at the Los Cielos Preserve. We will remove an engine block from along the Creekside trail east of Via Ambiente, and other large debris items as they are discovered. We will haul in trail bed material to repair/fortify the trail coming into Los Cielos Preserve from the end of Elfin Forest Lane as it has eroded due to this year’s rains. We will haul in materials to construct an entry/access pint at the trailhead entry just below Nancy Reed’s arena.
Community Benefit
The Los Cielos Preserve is an amenity to the Elfin Forest community, providing open space, nature viewing and recreational opportunities to its residents. Elfin Forest residents often encourage the Conservancy to tackle trail work projects at the Los Cielos Preserve where they walk, bike and ride horses. This machine will allow for timely completion of the aforementioned work and other projects. This project will generally enhance the Conservancy’s ability to manage the preserve in a manner that protects its natural resources and the safety of human visitors.
