Most of Elfin Forest’s trail fencing was forty years old when the Trails Committee started telling neighbors it had to come down and go back up. Between 2019 and 2022 the Committee raised more than $100,000 from residents and the Foundation. This April 2020 award was one piece of that work: materials for repairs on a system that is not a County park and not an HOA amenity. It sits on private land beside the roads. If the fence fails, the trail fails, and the rural character people bought into starts to look like a shoulder.
What the community got
Repaired trail fencing in the community system that runs on private land next to streets and into Conservancy preserves. Neighbors still ride and walk those alignments.
