Preserve trails are not city sidewalks. You cannot send a dump truck into Los Cielos. The Conservancy asked for a Yardmax power trackbarrow with hydraulic assist hopper and a blade attachment. The Foundation bought it. Staff have used it to haul trail repair material and to remove junk that does not belong on a preserve — including an engine block. That is the kind of procurement grant the charter was written for.
What the community got
Conservancy crews can move rock, mulch, and scrap on preserve trails without a truck where a truck does not belong. One of the first jobs was hauling out an engine block.
